Tourism Complex in Menaggio

THE PROJECT

Menaggio (CO)

Set along the shore of Lake Como, the complex organises its hospitality spaces around their relationship with the water. The building, terraces and outdoor areas form a sequence of places with distinct characters, united by their openness to the lakeside landscape.

Pools, sun terraces and shaded areas create a continuous network of spaces for relaxation and social life. Paving and planting distinguish the different areas and connect the transitions between them, while pergolas and lightweight structures provide shelter without closing off the views. In the historic building, large glazed surfaces maintain the relationship with the lake, extending the continuity between indoors and outdoors to the sheltered spaces.
